RemoScreen for Linux (x64 development bundle)

This is an unsigned development build. It does not install anything: run it
from the folder you extract it to.

START IT
  1. Extract the archive, for example in your home folder (use the name of
     the file you downloaded):
       tar -xzf remoscreen-linux-x64-development.tar.gz
  2. In your logged-in desktop session, run remoscreen_client from the folder
it creates, which has the archive's name without .tar.gz:
       ./remoscreen-linux-x64-development/remoscreen_client
or open remoscreen_client from your file manager.
  3. In Settings, set "Control server" to the address of your RemoScreen
service (HTTPS; plain HTTP only for this computer, such as
http://127.0.0.1:8787). On Home, Go online: this desk gets its 9-digit
desk ID, which the person who connects to it types in.

KEEP THE FILES TOGETHER
remoscreen_client needs the data/ and lib/ folders beside it, and
remoscreen-input (the input helper) next to it for remote keyboard and
mouse control of this desk. To keep the helper elsewhere, start RemoScreen
  with REMOSCREEN_INPUT_HELPER=/absolute/path/to/remoscreen-input.

WHAT IT NEEDS
  - A desktop keyring (the Secret Service, as GNOME Keyring or KWallet
provide), unlocked. This desk's sign-in is stored there and nowhere
else; without it RemoScreen says so and does not go online.
  - An X11 desktop session for remote keyboard and mouse control and for
unattended access. Under Wayland this desk cannot be controlled.
  - PulseAudio, or PipeWire with its PulseAudio service: screen sessions
    need it even without sound.
  - GTK 3 and libsecret, which most desktops already have.

STARTING AT LOGIN
For unattended access, Settings > Unattended access has "Start RemoScreen
minimised when I log in". Keep the folder where it is afterwards: the login
entry points at this copy of remoscreen_client.
